Coming into this year, God shared a powerful word with me — “Limitless”. In that, He spoke to my heart and said this would be a limitless year. Can you imagine? What would it look like to be limitless, free to move in ways we never have before? Just think about that for a moment. Never hindered. No longer delayed. Able to soar above our imagination. It seems impossible. But isn’t that who God is? He’s the God of the impossible. Nothing is impossible for Him. And His desires for us are so great.
There is a world around us that is progressively getting darker. More and more limits are put on everyone, and we can feel the stress and pressure. What we thought we could do yesterday now comes with constraints. And keeping the vision is a fight. But this is where new things happen. Maybe what worked yesterday isn’t meant for today. Maybe we’re being moved into a whole new place, a new level of possibility, and we wouldn’t encounter it without the trial. The darker it gets, the brighter a light shines. And we were called to shine. The time is now.
Of course, when I heard the possibility of being limitless, I got excited. Yes, Lord! I want it all! Little did I know how much of me it would cost, and what it would entail. Immediately, God began putting His finger on every place that I’ve been limiting Him. Ouch!
First, He pointed out mammon. The easiest way to explain this is when we put our hopes, our security, and provision in money … instead of God. He is our source, He is our provider, and if we look to money to take that place, we’re missing the boat. Severely. I’ll talk more about that later.
Another was the fear of man. Writing this blog is a prime example. What are people going to think if I’m writing about God in a business setting? We’re not allowed to do that, right?
And another is my own understanding of what’s even possible, or why He’s even called me to the marketplace in the first place. It’s so easy to get caught up in what we think is right, or comfortable, or what fits into what the world is doing. But we’re called to a greater purpose, and His ways are so much better. His vision is so much higher. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says that “No man has seen, heard, or imagined what God has in store for them that love Him.” Will we open up our plans for His more?
I’d like you to consider today, what would life look like to be limitless? Are there areas you’ve limited God? Ask Him to help you in these areas, and to open up new possibilities for you.
. . .
Lord, I thank You for everyone reading this. I thank You that Your plans for them are so much more than we can imagine. Lord, we want You to reign in our lives. Move us in ways that we cannot imagine, to do things we could never dream of, impacting our world like never before. We thank You that You love us so much. You want to partner with us. You could transform everything with a swipe of Your hand, but instead You involve us. Teach us to be conduits of Your love, Your blessings, Your vision. Show us how to bring Heaven on earth Your way. Amen.
I am so glad you contacted me today. Today I’m going for a session with my new pastor Tina. Her husband is alongside her they were a team. She’s going to pray for heart healing for me. I am stuck in this area. I am a creative person. I’m a broken person. I have big dreams. And small assets. Except that I am a faith person and I believe God. I have not figured out how to merge those two and I do feel stuck. I am hoping that after today I will be able to make some decisions without anxiety I know that God has called me into the unknown but I don’t know where that is. Please pray for me you’re part of my future
Oh Trudy, thank you so much for sharing. I’ll definitely be praying for you. God really does have us in some tight places. What I’m finding, though, is this is where He comes through. He’s breaking off a lot in order to get us to the other side. I’m excited for you because this is where it happens. No more limits. We’re in this together. I’m so glad you could be here.
You have no idea how much I needed this today, Michelle. Thank you for stepping out in faith to write and share what God is saying to you.
Oh my, Tina, this blesses me! You have no idea how much I struggled and stalled in stepping out. You are an encouragement! Excited to see what God has in store for us. : )
Thank you Michelle. I’m looking forward to following your blog
Welcome, Lorrie! I’m so glad you could join us here!
